ASSAR group, with its 20-year history, has had a major impact on the cityscape of Brussels. Projects to date include offices, housing, industrial buildings, research laboratories, retail, new buildings and renovation, urban planning, interior design and programming. The firm`s recognisable style is the result of its desire to design a contemporary architecture appropriate to its context. This monograph features some of ASSAR`s major projects, including headquarters buildings for well-known companies such as AXA Belgium, ING Bank, L`Oreal, Robert Bosch and UCB, and several research laboratories including a substantial facility for GlaxoSmithKline Biologicals. Other projects of note include The Royal Military Academy in Brussels, the country`s first new military academy in more than a century.
